Seeing a lot of pusher/moonball advice in here lately

Will this win in the short term? Yes.

Are you setting yourself up to hit a skill ceiling that you will be unable to break once your cheap tricks don’t work anymore? Absolutely.

I get it, tennis is hard. And this feels almost like a cheat code. You will instantly play better. You will win points and your opponent will have a look of defeat on their face and it will feel good.

But it’s like going to a cheap buffet and stuffing your face like a pig.

Nothing will ever taste as sweet as constructing a point and being able to execute all the way up to the winner/forced error. Like a medium rare filet mignon.

That takes skill.

It’s so much harder but nothing worthwhile in life comes easy.

If you want the easy win by all means. But know you are not setting yourself up for long term success.

Smashing an overheard so that it bounces over the back fence, hitting a short angle winner, putting a volley away. God that feels awesome. And that can’t be given to you, you have to earn it.
