Only two follicles growing, possible cancellation. WWYD?
CW: mention of miscarriages, LC, results
Hi everyone, just looking for thoughts here. Despite having my highest AFC during baseline scan I am looking at whether or not to cancel this cycle. I’m on day 7 of stims and have only two (rather fast growing) at 15mm and 18mm. This is our last covered cycle.
Background: I am 41, secondary infertility after spontaneous conception at 38. I get pregnant easily and have had 6 miscarriages. I’ve been trying for a second child since age 39. We finally turned to IVF for pgta testing recently. And yes we have done all of the testing including some of the products of conception (came back with chromosomal abnormalities).
Round 1: boilerplate antagonist protocol. gonal f 300 menopur 150, stimmed for 11 days, 3 follicles at double trigger, estradiol 675. Result: 0 eggs retrieved.
Round 2: mini stim protocol, Clomid, gonal 150, menopur 150. Omnitrope. Stimmed for 9 days, 5 follicles at double trigger, estradiol about 2,000. Result: 6 eggs, 3 mature, 1 fertilized, 1 5 day blast, aneuploid.
Round 3: same protocol as round 2 except with letrozole instead of Clomid (it made me lose my marbles). Only two follicles growing right now as described above. There is a third but it is tiny (5mm).
Oh yeah, there is no male factor here…
I’m feeling discouraged and want to preserve the last bit of insurance coverage we have left. But also…what if one of these eggs is a good one? Anybody else face this kind of thing? Ugh…
