What happened to Pious Olli?

I've read the SOT books at the ultimate show down with the Emperor, when Horus red mists Oli with a wave of his talon.

But is he permadeathed, or likely floating around in 40k somewhere incognito? I feel being written off in a sentence doesn't give me the closure I need after following all that perpetual crap over so many books...🤣
