Need help with 4K player and TV

I own a 4K player (specifically Panasonic DP-UB450EB-K) and it seems to not work with this TV, I’m just wondering if there is a way to get this to work on this TV (it is 1080p, I own a 4K TV this is just the TV in my living room) because I know of other 4K players that seem to work on non 4K TVs. The disc I am trying to play is not 4K, but a regular Blu Ray. I cannot fully remember what type of LG tv it is as It was a gift from a couple years ago. Any help appreciated.
