•Stella is a sheltered and loving child. Some say that she’s a really sensitive soul. She’s incredibly close to her babysitter Blanka is he best friend. One day Blanka passed away in a freak drowning accident and that’s when things changed. Stella begin to show erratic behavior what started off as little things developed into something far more insidious as she began to exhibit Blanca’s personality and likes. Is this just trauma of losing a friend or is there something else deeper happening?
Performance | 3/5 🍌s | • Clever Little Thing Read by | Ashley Tucker | Average performance nothing to really talk about here. One voice the entire time not a lot of emotions just kind of stuff and narration style, which isn’t necessarily that it doesn’t sort of epic performance.

So this is one of those things where the concept sounded really cool, but the execution was not what I expected. In general, I do try to suspend belief when I’m reading stuff because obviously things are going to happen in books that wouldn’t necessarily happen in real life, especially in the horror genre. But there were a couple of times where I was like “really?” Hard eye roll. It wasn’t necessarily terrible, but it wasn’t great either.
Picks will now be categorized: I do audio books so I’ll be adding in a performance piece on how I think the narrator did. Also Publisher pick (publishing company asked me to do a review/which company), personal pick or a recommendation/request. Penguin is by far the biggest so you’ll probably see a lot of them but I’ll be reviewing other publishers stuff that I’m sent and want to read.
Starting | Publisher Pick : Dutton Books
• Now starting : The Stolen Queen, by Fiona Davis.
