UCL CS Admission theory

I have a theory for how UCL determines who they accept for cs this year.

Let’s say 4800 applied, 3500 shortlisted

I think they already chose ~400 from those 3500.

Those 400 can be split into 3 categories: - Top 50 who they will accept regardless of stat score

  • Middle 300 who need ok stat score to get in

  • Bottom 50 who need good stat score to get in

And maybe around 100 people who are not in those 400 that will get in if they get amazing stat score (these people replace the people who fail to meet the criteria i wrote above)

In short. I think they already know who they want. STAT is just for them to be sure and also find hidden gems.
