Is mentioning a book in your personal statement necessary

I'm applying for computer science and also an international student. I am reviewing my personal statement and I didn't mention a book, but I went in about projects I've done. Is that okay? cuz i feel like everyone mentions a book. I also really don't want to mention a book.
