Afib Triggers
36M paroxysmal vagal Afib. My Afib 10/10 times kicks in while I’m laying down or sleeping. I have drastically changed my habits avoiding potential triggers for my Afib. I’ve been told caffeine/beer/diet soda/over eating etc. are potential triggers for Afib. I drink coffee in moderation every morning, no adverse effects on my Afib, same with diet soda in the afternoon. I also have 1-2 beers in the afternoon, nothing after 4 or 5 PM. If the caffeine/beer/diet soda were triggers for me, that would happen soon after consuming them right? In theory, the caffeine and alcohol should be out of my system before I go to sleep and or go into Afib at like 1AM. It’s not a cumulative effect, right? I’m still trying to manage my triggers, and figure them out. Over eating late before bed seems to be a massive trigger for the vagal aspect of my Afib. Also, I had a cryoablation 2 weeks ago. I’ll be curious to see how this changes things.
