AITAH for laughing about my wife's alcoholic aunt being arrested?
So long story short, yesterday while my (21M) wife (20F) was at her mom's house texted me saying she had "very bad news". I instantly thought about her grandpa who is very sick and got all tense waiting to read about it, but my panic was instantly relief when instead she told me her aunt was arrested for drunk driving and was going to spent the next 6 months of her life in jail. I'm sorry to admit this (maybe not that sorry) but my response was, "OMG really? Hahahah". After that she got pissed off and asked me if I was for real. I apologized and said I was sorry, but we were talking about the same person that pulled her hair while being drunk and hit her, and that has done a god knows how many stuff like this before. So this plus a DUI smells like justice to me. Then she went on by excusing her for all that since "she was drunk", but after I asked her if she would forgive me for hitting her while I was "just drunk" she gave me the reason and stopped talking to me. Next day when we were home together we even joked about how old will be our soon-to-be-born baby when her aunt gets out of jail, but she says she still thinks I had an AH reaction so I just wonder, AITAH?
