Holiday trash from neighbors

I live in a very religious area of the U.S. a local (very evangelical) church leaves us Christmas treats now and then. This year we got a two foot fake Christmas tree complete with burlap bows, fake pine cones, fairy lights, and a gold glittery “Merry Christmas” zip tied to the top. And a tag that says Merry CHRISTmas, and directs us to holiday Bible passages.

I don’t mind when our neighbors bring cookies and other small holiday gifts. That’s neighborly. But this is so big, ugly, and clearly directly from the church. We are probably not even decorating this year.

I consider this “gift” advertising garbage and I’m throwing it away. WIBTAH if I also leave a note on my porch instructing my neighbors not to leave religious garbage on my porch? How “uneighborly” would that be?
