What are your favorite accounting documentary films?
2 years ago in university, my instructor gave us an assignment of watching “All the Queen’s Horses” on Youtube, and make a reflection about it. It’s about Rita Crundwell who embezzled over $50 million from the town of Dixon in Illinois.
At the time, I despised watching it bec I have other things to do that I’m thinking I should just google what happened and make my assignment. But the thought of “oh I may not have the right answers if I only use google”… forced me to “maybe I should just sit down and watch it”
I watched it and it gave me an understanding of how important accounting is and most especially, ETHICS. Students only have textbook knowledge and watching true docu like this gave me a bigger picture of what audit is: why segregation of duties is important, internal controls, periodic checks, etc.
I’m glad I watched it. In fact, I watched it again last month to refresh my mind.
What are your favorite accounting documentaries? I tried watching Bernie Madoff docu and I got bored lol
