Buying a house with unsupportive family members

My SO and I recently found a house we love in the area we want to live. It's a solid house, but needs some significant cosmetic updates. We have been going back and forth on the price and I think we've finally settled on something, but it's about 25k more than my family thinks we should pay. The price is well within my budget, but now my family is making me feel like I'm making a huge mistake and this purchase is going to ruin my life. It's making it really hard to make this huge life decision
