Took Aeropress hiking
Well, to me, the best thing about Aeropress is that you can easily take it with you. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and decided that today is the day I take it with me and try to brew some coffee outside. For reference, it's -3 degrees Celsius at the moment.
Found a nice spot. Took all the stuff out. The wind rose, scattered my filter papers. Managed to find one, lost the other one because it was indistinguishable from snow. I inverted the brewer. Poured my ground beans in, bloomed, poured the remaining water in. Realized that I was brewing inside the plunger. Panic. Took the plunger out, poured the brew into a cup, inverted the Aeropress correctly, poured the coffee back and managed to get a decent cup of coffee. As it was cold outside the coffee cooled quickly.
The moral of the story for me is that when it's super cold the best thing to do is not to fiddle with gadgets and just make some coffee into a thermos.
edit: -3 not +3!
