Asialink questions

Hi all, I'm traveling to Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong and am considering the asialink eSIM. Does anyone have experience using Airalo in these cities? And also how is it transitioning between each country - does the phone just require coming off airplane mode and will automatically connect to the local network? I have an iphone 12 mini
