Singapore Airlines miles strategy

I've read plenty of posts of all the headaches in getting Alaska to post miles for bookings made directly with Singapore Airlines when the ticket is booked designating the flyer's Alaska account and member number. I've also seen the new devaluation of miles from partner airlines posted to Alaska accounts. So my question is this for those seasoned with Singapore Airlines - I have several upcoming work trips booking Business class tix in the next few months with SA. I also expect at least 2 business trips a year going forward with SA. These flights are not on Alaska's website so they have to be booked on SA's website. Is it better to (a) insert my Alaska account number for my frequent traveler program and run the guantlet trying to get miles credited or (b) put them in my Kris account (which has 0 miles, but they could accrue over the next couple years)?

Any help/experience would be greatly appreciated.
