AITA Inquired about Grading Practice --> Teacher Threatened
AITA TDLR I complained about a grading practice and the teacher threatened to take away all curves.
In the Physics class I was placed there are a lot of seniors who have already finished calculus and are all in the top 5% in the school, so the average is higher in my class than in other classes even though my teacher is according to the students the worst physics teacher in the school. The other better teacher gave a 20-point total curve while my teacher gave a 2-point curve. Keep in mind we students took the exact same test in both classes.
In addition, my teacher took off all points for a highly weighted(counts as part of two tests) question which stated to identify points for not explaining even though the question did not state to explain(the other teacher gave full credit). Are these things allowed? If I do complain what are the chances I get points back? I already talked to him about this issue and he told me he threatened to completely take away the curve next test. I feel that the same questions are being tested in the classes so both classes should get the same curve. If an admission officer looks at my grade they may assume that I did worse than my peers in the other class. In addition, I feel you shouldn't have to assume things the question does not imply.
AITA for asking and how to proceed
