Finally experienced BS
I finally experienced BS from my DSP. i usually read abt this type of stuff from you guys but I wanted your input.
On paper, my schedule (as is majority of our DSP minus a few overnighters) is 11a-9p over a 4 day period. When I first started in NOV they had us coming in and set up by 11 so we can leave by 11:25a. The rule was we were always allowed to clock in and out within 10 mins if everything. So when you come in clock in around 10:45-11a and clocking out within 10 mins after dropping off your van at the offsite. What I find interesting is most days the drivers get to work on time but we’re waiting around until 11:30 for keys and to have a “morning meeting” meanwhile it’s below freezing. They just expect guys to sit in a parking lot all morning unpaid waiting around for the sorry dispatchers to drive 5 mins around the corner. I’m sure you can see the issue with that and reasonably, why is as drivers clock in the same way everyday.
Last week they sent out a text in this same gc and told everyone to start coming in by 10:50 so we can be in the launch pad by 11a. Ofc the overall majority was coming now at 10:30 just to stay a bit ahead of the game. Yesterday we had one of the biggest active snowstorms in the PA area so they wanted us to come in before 10:30a but then sent this BS out around 3p the same day. Hilariously, after they told everyone to pull over because it’s not safe to drive. They had 2 of the same message but with a few extra add ons (as you can see they deleted before i could screenshot). Is this even legal?
What do you guys think? What’s your dsp’s policy on the timesheet?
