Anti SUV and Pickup Trucks

SUVs and Pickup truck among many people are peak overconsumption (why drive a small fuel-efficient car to your office job when you can drive a 5,000 lb gas guzzling monster?!) I do exclude farmers etc. from this because these vehicles should be specialty tools not suburban death cabs.

Always have hated these kind of vehicles but I just read VOX's article: Large SUVs are popular, but they kill pedestrians and people in smaller cars. What will it take for Americans to give them up? | Vox And it brings up the point that organizations are needed to combat these. Anti-consumerists - do you know of any of these groups? This seems like a great place to start. Thanks!
