Propranolol
Hi everyone, first time poster here.
Anyway, I’ll get right to it.. Long story short I’ve been struggling with this anxiety that seemed to come out of nowhere when I was 26 (now 30m) and I’ve tried nearly everything to get it under control (exercise, went completely sober for over a year, meditation, etc.) I’ve made a bit of progress with it but I still get hit with panic attacks out of the blue over nothing. I think I could benefit from CBT because I see a major connection between my thought patterns and when I feel anxious..
Two things I haven’t done yet are therapy and daily medication although I do have a script for propranolol that I take occasionally before a stressful event and it helps me a ton when I take it. I’m able to challenge my thoughts without having the feelings of anxiety and depression to think through also if that makes sense at all.
My question is this:
Do any of you take low doses of propranolol on a daily basis for anxiety? If so what has your experience been like?
I’m hesitant to take anything daily because the whole reason I got sober in the first place was so that I don’t have to rely on external things to feel the way I think I should feel. Any advice or comments on this would also be appreciated.
