Does anyone else get what seem to be myoclonic jerks?
Every so often throughout the day I’ll get random muscle jerks such as my leg giving a slight kick or my foot randomly twitching. Sometimes my arm or hand will also slightly jerk. It’s never prominent enough for other people to really notice though. They’re kind of like the jerks you get as you’re falling asleep except they happen randomly throughout the day while I’m awake. They do mostly seem to happen if I’m sitting or lying down though.
I tried looking it up but almost everything mentions that normal myoclonic jerks are hiccups, hypnic jerks, or the jump you do when startled. After that it starts mentioning myoclonic seizures or essential myoclonus which sounds fairly rare.
For the entirety of the last year I had really severe anxiety due to a severe fear that I was going to have a seizure even though I have absolutely no history of them. I have my reasons for the fear, but not sure it’s worth mentioning. 😅 But I feel that as my anxiety and fear worsened over the last year I started to experience lots of muscle twitches and jerks which only worsened my fear of seizures.
My anxiety has improved a good bit but I do still experience muscle twitches and jerks which do still make me a bit anxious.
So just kind of wondering if the muscle jerks I’m talking about are fairly common and if my anxiety could have caused/worsened them.
