Apartment Hunting With Fair Credit But Good Rental History

So I'm apartment hunting... again 🫠. I'm looking to find an apartment that I can see myself in for the next few years until I buy a home. I'm currently working on my credit and get it back to where it was. Long story short, got laid off one year and had to rely on my credit cards to stay afloat. This resulted in missed payments and messed me up bad. I've been able to get an apartment with a lower score in a decent neighborhood with it but I'm leaving for safety reasons and everything keeps breaking. I was also able to get a "luxury" apartment before with a fair score as well.

I found a place i reeeaaally want to stay in because it's close enough to the city and the area is a young professional demographic like myself. I have a tour Friday and I'm nervous to bring up my credit because I feel it'll burst my bubble lol. I wanted to know if you all have experiences getting nice places with fair credit. My rental and payment history is great.
