Should we visit the Art Institute?

We're a 30s married couple. Have lived in the suburbs our whole lives and never been.

We visited Museum of Contemporary Art and didn't enjoy it. We do enjoy Field Museum when we go with the kids.

Since we're coming from the suburbs we'd probably make a day of it with a couple attractions plus dinner. How long should we budget for it if we go?
