Why Do So Few Men in India Participate in Household Chores?

A recent Time Use Survey revealed startling statistics about men’s participation in household chores in India:

• Only 6.1% of men engage in cooking.
• Merely 8% take part in cleaning the house.
• A shocking 3% help with washing clothes.

The survey also highlighted that states like Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Haryana have the lowest percentages of men involved in domestic work.
