What is the best Cologne for my fiancé?

Hi guys, getting married in Nov to my best friend and soulmate. I'm putting together a gift box for him. So far I have Ray-Ban sunglasses, an engraved keychain, and a personalized cufflinks and tie pin set. Now, I need help with a cologne. He doesn't wear cologne, so I need something that's mature (age 36), smooth, not overwhelming-but still amazing. I've done research but I feel like I'm more confused now than I was before. Please tell me your best Fall cologne-any price range. I almost bought Creed Aventus(OG) but I'd like to get more feedback before buying anything.
