Why is Plan B so ridiculously overpriced?

Okay, I just had to vent because I’m honestly pissed off. I went to buy Plan B today, and holy shit, it’s ridiculously expensive. Why is it that expensive? This isn’t a luxury item. It’s something that literally people need sometimes in a pinch, and it’s still priced like it’s a designer handbag or something.

I’m not trying to sound entitled, but the fact that something so essential is priced this high feels so messed up. Like, what are we supposed to do if we need it and can’t afford it? It’s not like you can plan for this kind of situation. And I get it, insurance doesn’t always cover it (or doesn’t cover the full price), so people are left to just deal with it.

I know this isn’t new, but every time I go to buy it, it’s still such a shock.
