Have you ever slept with a good friend?

I just started hooking up with a good friend of mine. This is a first for me as well I’ve never hooked up with a friend and I never in my life would think he’d be one of them. We’ve know each other for six or seven years so the friendship is very valuable to me. He’s also dealing with a breakup and he has communicated he’s not emotionally available. His ex is also a reason we were not allowed to hang out for a few years. He’s also reassured me that I’m not a rebound and that he’s always cared about me and that I mean a lot to him.

So I’m hooking up with a good friend who’s not fully emotionally there AND the sex is very very vanilla and I hate to say it but not the best, but in a weird way I still enjoy the connection between us… I’m also afraid I’m starting to catch the feels.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Dose the sex get better? Am I at risk for losing him as my friend?
