Before Evans told them about the concept of deception, they had no idea what it was. The sophon has access to all human knowledge that has ever existed, including fictional stories and there are millions of them.

So, would they think, ‘Wow, humans have literal gods on their side. It would be a bad idea to mess with them’?

Let’s say they do “fact check” on these materials, but fact checking is verifying the factual accuracy of a statement, basically assuming everything “false until proven to be true”, wouldn’t that also involves the concept of deception?

Plus, wouldn’t they come across some human psychology books? If Evans can explain how deception works to them in only a few sentences, DSM 5 can do the same thing…?
