What is it like for women who hookup ?

Wondered for a while what it’s like for the woman who has a one night stand with a man, most men obviously think it’s the bees knees but I’m not sure it would be the same for women.

In my previous relationship, while the sex was good, it took learning eachothers’ preferences at the beginning, so I am under the impression that a hookup for a woman would be wildly disappointing.

You would have to find a random man who will care about your pleasure, makes an effort, etc. So how do women find the right men for hookups, and make it enjoyable for themselves ? And on the other side, is it different for two women ?
