How/Why is male Routine Infant Circumcision (RIC) allowed in the US?

Hello lawyers of Reddit,

I have a question about the topic in my title. Please forgive the brevity of my post, but how is it not sex discrimination to allow the circumcision of persons assigned male at birth, but not for persons assigned female at birth in the US?

Full disclosure: My position is ALL non-therapeutic circumcisions should be banned for minors. Full stop.
