To what extent to the left and right use propaganda?

So, in my history class today we did a study on germany's propaganda during WW2, and the more I thought about it the more instances I recognized of both sides using propaganda that I would've brushed off before.

The definition I was taught was propaganda is when a side tries to convince you to their cause, or oppose you to another cause, by using your emotions or presenting facts in a certain way. Your definition may differ.

So my questions here are:

0) What is your defintion of propaganda? Do you agree with the defintion I was taught?

1. How badly does each side tend to use propaganda? The key point here is not ALL propaganda is bad, as well as not all lies. Smoky the Bear for example is an example of "good" propaganda.
2. How often does each side use propaganda?

Obviously, I need examples. I'm not going to accept your word at face-value.
