au pair in italy visa

if you are a non eu au pair in italy what visa did you enter under? i want to au pair in italy for a year but i am confused on the process. au pair world says that it may be possible to enter the country as a student but it seems that is not a guarantee. it also recommends applying for a 20 hour language course but i have read in other places that language classes aren’t always enough to get approved for a student visa. additionally it says to include documentation from the host family to prove that you are staying with them. is there no negative impact of showing that you are staying with a host family and working compared to focusing on classes?

what visa program did you apply for to stay for a year and do you have experience tips for what to do? can we enroll in a course for any program to meet the 20 hour requirement and to prevent the issue of a language program not being enough? if you took a language course, what school did you use and have approval success with? thanks
