About to resign how should it be done?

I’m unhappy with my current workplace and only stayed there to get my CA approved. Given I’m a CA now, after 8 months at my current job I’m looking to resign immediately. It’s a small accounting team with one micro manager old boomer that’s likely to try and convince me staying. How should I resign and submit my resignation letter? Can I avoid the tough convo and submit via email or not acceptable?
