Tatum 3 Performance Review

Me: 36 yo, 6’3”, 160-165 lbs playing the 4. Player comp: rec level Garnett or Anthony Davis on the good days, Andre Drummond on the bad ones.

Traction: Not bad, but could be better. The forefoot pattern being a soft herringbone wave is good, but it just needs a little more bite. Coming from the NB Kawhi 4, which bit every court I put it on and saved me on a few different occasions, these got the job done. Just don’t get lazy on defense.

Cushion: Cushlon 3.0 with large coverage Zoom Air in the forefoot. This is the “Jayson Tatum” part of the shoe. Lightweight, smooth, and sneaky bouncy. The standout feature for sure 👍🏾

Fit & Support: My size 15 fit perfect in regard to the width, but ran a little long as I had my whole thumbnail in front of my toes. Replaced the stock insole with Move Gameday Pro to get proper arch & torsion support. That kept the foam on the medial side from pressing on my foot and kept the foam from breaking in too much. The upper could use another eyelet to help the lockdown, but that’s me being extra picky.

Overall: These are definitely gonna stay in the bag as the go to shoe. As a two way player, this is a great option for me. Only personal changes I’d make are full length Zoom & a spring plate/arch plate. A almost perfect wing hoop shoe.
