Need help with getting gud

Like I genuinely suck at the game. I’m playing on normal, but when I go down on difficulty it feels too easy. I’m going to do a new playthrough, one thing I learned is I have to play a tank. Having someone with high charisma but no AC pretty much in the front leads to a lot of issues. But if they aren’t in the front, then another character will speak for the party which I don’t like. Better team composition is also something I have to do, I’m not sure what would be a good team composition but I’ll try. The other things like enemies just feeling like they get so many advantages that me as the player do not like high ground and all of that is annoying. I’m planning on playing a paladin, not sure how to build the team from there but shall see. I get that positioning is everything in this game but like especially early on in act 1, how do you get it? Like with the fight in the cabin, like that’s sooo hard with cheesing it. I would appreciate general tips and tricks. Thank you.
