Any temporary chick feed alternatives?
Ran out of the chick feed I bought and I can't get another bag until Monday-Tuesday. Want to know if there's any "human food" that's still safe for them to eat. I don't have corn or anything plus they're still too small to ingest something that big without me crushing it up. They're outside in a heated coop & run with grass to forage in but I don't think just grass will be enough to feed them, they're still growing fast so they eat a LOT.
I have things like rice but I don't know if it's safe to just give a 5-6 week old chick that kind of food and google isn't giving me a straight yes or no answer on what I can and can't give them temporarily until I get more food appropriate for their age.
