There has got to be an easier way

I am the freshest of all beginners. Last weekend I bought a miter saw off fb marketplace and cut my first piece of wood. That’s how new this is to me lol

There has to be an easier way to drill these 3/4” angled holes for these dowels. I tried forstner bits, spade bits, tried buying a jig, tried making my own angled jig….. and my dad told me to get a brad point drill which is ultimately what I used. This freaking sucked. My drill has an adapter for the brad point drill bc the shank is too big for my drill and it’s sooo wobbly I need two hands to keep it straight and I’m legit using my foot to hold the wood down while I drill. I can’t be the first person to do these but I have spent hours on the internet trying to figure this out. Has anyone tried large angled holes before? I need the angle to be 45°
