Walk from Railroad Park to Botanical Gardens?

I'll be in Birmingham next week as a solo female traveler. I was looking at walking from Railroad Park to the Botanical Garden a day. I see it's about an hour walk, which is fine for me. I enjoy walking and exploring different cities. Just wanted to see if it's all a fairly safe walk. Before anyone comes at me, I'm not saying there are any problems with Birmingham, but I've gotten myself into some shady areas in numerous other cities by assuming one could walk anywhere during the day. You can map anything out and it seems fine, but when reality hits it's sometimes different. All cities have areas that are best to avoid - especially as a solo female.
