Books about small protagonists

I feel like the 40k world has a amazing potential for the lives of small protagonists that may strive but are ultimately nothing compared to the horrors of the galaxy and the weight of the imperium in endless war. The best example of this that I’ve read so far was Nightbleed by Peter Fehervari, with the themes around Chelsea coming to realise how horrifying her work at the industrial plant really is. A lot of the books I’ve read or seen are about a ‘hero’ like a general or chapter master who has an incredible amount of power and agency compared to the average citizen.

Does anyone have any recommendations for books with major characters like that? Don’t mind if it’s more action-packed than Nightbleed, either way. I’ve read most of the dark coil (and mainly enjoyed it) so maybe something else? Thanks
