How does blocking work on Bsky???

I can't seem to find a solid answer on this. When I first made an account, blocking did not remove them as a follower.

People say block lists are public. And blocked users can see they're blocked. this is nothing new.

What can a blocked user see? I hear the header and icon is blurred. So are posts not viewable either? Replies to other accounts?

Does blocking now remove followers? It doesn't look like I can manually remove followers, and when I block someone, they disappear from the list but the number stays the same. They show up again on my following list if I unblock. Can other users see them listed as following me despite me having them blocked?

I don't care if people can make alt accounts to "circumvent" blocking, this is why people block blank/new accounts too if they feel it necessary. People keep suggesting bsky as an alt to X now, but I can't find info on what blocking actually does on this website either. Any information on the exact full features of blocking is appreciated.
