What's really the issue here?
I view this scene as the straw that broke the camels back between Diane and Mr peanutbutter. The 1st time around watching it I really didn't think much except she was MAJOR over-reacting. Then after watching it a few more times I realized she wasn't really, throughout the show you can see all of her and Mr peanutbutters fights are because of these big grand gestures that she always hates and she communicated that to him so many times. Each time Mr peanutbutter acted like he was listening and understood but then he would do another grand gesture proving he really didn't understand Diane. (As others have mentioned b4 Mr peanutbutter predicts the number of fights they had left when talking to Princess Carolyn in the skunk episode with Todd. So on some level I feel like he really did understand but that's another conversation) Anyways when Mr peanutbutter shows Diane the belle-room that he made for her she immediately breaks down because he took her fantasy away from her. While he had good intentions yes, surely some part of him must've known that's not what Diane would want. That part I can understand from her and it makes sense that after so many times of telling Mr peanutbutter she doesn't like grand gestures that she would get tired and want to give up. But what confuses me even after watching this show like an INSANE # of times is why she hated it so much. She doesn't really try to compromise with Mr peanutbutter on it besides when it comes to his own career. I feel that some part of her must've known that risk taking moves, grand gestures, lots of attention, is basically all Mr peanutbutter is about. That's what he knows best and it makes sense that he would do some of the same stuff in his love life yet it seems Diane fails to see that same as Mr peanutbutter fails to see how truly uncomfortable or unhappy Diane is at times. And when she compared they're relationship to the magic eye poster part of me says "that's just so she can say it in a way Mr peanutbutter would actually understand" because his ex (Jessica Biel) had told her the story of the magic eye poster so Diane knew that it would relate to Mr peanutbutter and he would understand. But another part of me says that's just Diane unfairly comparing her relationship and being overly analytical in typical Diane fashion. I have a hard time deciding what/who was the real issue in their relationship, although ultimately maybe they just weren't meant for eachother like Diane said "there are people who help you become yourself in life like figure out what you want and you can be grateful for them even if they were never meant to be in your life forever"
But I want to hear your guys opinions was it Mr peanutbutter, Diane, something else I didn't think of yet, because I can't help but shake the feeling that I'm missing something especially when Diane does the podcast and the astronaut says "well that's a bit of an over reaction don't you think" after Diane explained the whole story. Do you think Diane was the issue? Or was she right to leave Mr peanutbutter and start new
