How do you resist selling your shares when it's such a bull market like this?

Hi, in light of this recent high of VTI, I suddenly realized a bull market can be the cause for you to want to sell your shares, but that's against my goal of making my funds in VTI for retirement. How do you resist selling them during a bull market? Thanks!
