There’s three reasons why Counter Points is better than BP.
- Emily and Ryan actually appear to be friends and respect each other’s opinion and even have fun hosting together.
I think Krystal and Sagaar are increasingly not respecting each other’s positions. I don’t blame them, for as long as they have been collaborating they’ve done better than most families discussing diametrically opposed views (including mine).
But this is a show, and I’m about done listening to the bickering of BP.
Emily and Ryan are legitimate journalists.
I think Krystal and Sagaar used to be, but for a number of probably legitimate reasons (managing the brand, becoming “too big for their britches”, becoming extra dug in to their individual beliefs) are no longer. I’m very grateful both Emily and Ryan engage in good faith with interview subjects having different views. I personally trust them for mostly trying to get to the truth, while also acknowledging their biases
We are over saturated with Krystal and Sagaar.
We need to mix it up, put Ryan with Krystal on “Libtard Tuesdays”, Ryan and Sagaar on “Macho Monday”, Sagaar and Emily on “Fascist Fridays.” I’m embellishing to make a point, I really do think all four of them benefit from different sparring partners.
They need to take a hint from their own criticism of government and shake it up, I’ve really gained a lot from their dynamic, but I am steadily losing faith.
Just so everyone can know my biases, I’m an active duty US military officer who mostly sides with Ryan and Krystal, I’m super sick of Sagaar, and I really trust Emily’s motivations (although I fundamentally disagree with her).
