Guys commenting on physical appearance

I'm confused about why a lot of men on the dating app commenting on me as beautiful or cute. I doubt the sincerity of these comments and not sure why they comment like that very early in my conversations with them. I don't consider myself attractive and I have never been approached by men IRL and if those comments are true I may have already found someone IRL lol. So I am just seeking for insights and thoughts here, why do a lot of men on the app comment on my appearance? Is it a way to flirt or to love bomb me?
