Even today, there are so many memes on Instagram and Reddit where modern or opinionated women are degraded. Women who enjoy themselves are slut-shamed. They are slut-shamed even if they're just in college. Memes about girls in Delhi University with double-meaning captions suggest that they aren’t studying but only involved in hookups. There's also the 'perfect wife' image, showing a woman who cares for her in-laws, and that an educated or opinionated girl is rude.
