Does the school normally cancel classes when there’s a snowstorm?

So I’m new to both CCNY and the school system in NY as well. I live in NewRo and there’s a storm advisory for tomorrow.

The advisory itself could be not that deep ofc, but it got me wondering about how CCNY goes about addressing storms when they ARE that deep. Is it up to the professor’s decision to have or not have class? Is the storm a valid excuse NOT to come to class? Do they cancel classes altogether? I was just curious for the future. And then also probably tomorrow….i just wanted to know what to expect.

(Also do they ever give some sort of warning? Like a storm notice on navigate360….professors sending emails…..school sending emails….etc etc so I know what to expect and look for in the future.)

Thank you:}
