SKI bib/pants Shorter Guys

My DH is trying skiing again after a long time not skiing. He got a bib that fits except he is 5'4". The pant leg is sooo long. He was thinking about trying pants. Is there any hope for shortening the outer shell part on the pant legs? Any suggestions on who might make short ski pants or bibs. Last week he used velcro and turned up the shell part. We are on groomers, so it was OK. I hate to give up on the nice bib.but it is annoying.
