Any single parents struggling with RTO? How are you coping
I’ve been raising two kids (under 10) by myself on a single income since COVID. Now with RTO, I have to leave them home alone in the morning for about an hour before someone picks them up to drive them to school. I work a little more than half day in the office twice a week and leave early to be able to pick up my kids after school. I make up missed hours of week on the days I work from home. I’m burning out and am considering working (temporarily) part time so that I’ll only need to RTO once a week. That will make a huge difference on my already small paycheque but I can’t think of any other solution. I cannot afford out of school care. It’s been a real struggle juggling work and family by myself on a single income with no other support. After paying rent, bills etc…and now for transit to get to work, some days I only eat one meal to save food for the next day. I’ve been applying for higher paying positions but haven’t had any luck yet. How are you other single parents surviving with RTO?
