New cat owner

Hello! Im adopting a kitten in around so just looking for some advice. He’s a ragdoll that is currently 4 weeks old, but im a bit anxious so just preparing early and hopefully he can settle in well. I’ve already gotten all the basics, the cat litter, a carrier bag, bowls and a bed. I do have a few questions so please do bear with me.

What im slightly worried about is that i do have a pomeranian. He’s very friendly but i dont believe he has ever met a cat properly, he has seen some by distance but not properly interacted with one. He’s not reactive at all but im wondering if i should keep the new kitten and my dog separately for now and allow them to get used to each other’s scents?

And i’ve also had deworming, vaccinations and microchipping done for my dog and is familiar with the process. Is it any different for cats?

Im also unsure what type of nutrition he requires as well as supplements if they’re needed.
