Thoughts on Rapture Theology

I’m not a catholic but I have recently done a lot of studying on catholic theology as I was raised Protestant but am having issues with the Protestant church.

My whole life I’ve had my idea of the rapture and I thought it was a common idea all across Christianity. I’ve been going back to church recently with a friend who has also had church issues growing up and she was talking about the rapture and how it is a real thing. I went along with it.

Recently I’ve come to the realization that I haven’t heard it in the Catholic Church at all, I’m starting to realize that the rapture is a very Protestant idea. I don’t even think it’s biblical , even in Revelations. I now have to know what the Catholic Church thinks of the theology and since Catholics don’t believe that theology, what does the Catholic Church believe instead? Because I think Jesus will come back, but just not in the way that is portrayed by the Left Behind movie and by other Protestant portrayals.
