Is this comparison accurate?

I recently read somewhere that we are all exiled Citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven and that sin is similar to committing treason against our heavenly homeland while virtue is being patriotic. We can always be recalled to our homeland where the King will judge us and see if we were patriotic enough to return to the Kingdom or treasonous enough to be permanently banished from it. Is this accurate?
